Reviews and Ratings
I must say, my stay at the hotel had its highs and lows. The rooms were comfortable and clean, but unfortunately, the proximity to a noisy music venue kept me awake into the early hours. The cleanliness left a lot to be desired; the rooms were dusty, mouldy, and had a musty smell. To top it off, the heating system was not functioning properly. On a positive note, the rooms were reasonably equipped for convenience.
I had a pleasant stay at the hotel with clean and very cozy rooms, but there were some noisy nights. The service was friendly, but smoking near the front door was a drawback. The location was convenient for accessing the business park and the city center, although maintenance was needed in some areas. The dining experience had its ups and downs, with slow service and overcooked eggs. The facilities were decent, but some areas required maintenance.
I found the hotel to be a mixed experience. The rooms were a bit on the warm side and faced onto the hotel back wall, which was not ideal. It falls short of a 4-star rating due to these room conditions. However, the service was exceptional, especially Leston on the desk, who was outstanding. There were some minor issues with the glass tops of the bedside tables forming underneath. The location, although in a nice leafy suburb of Aberdeen West End, was quite busy and with limited staff for serving, leading to long wait times for certain items. On the bright side, the hotel's huge premises make it a great starting point for exploring Aberdeen and the Highlands. The dining experience was pleasant overall, offering a good variety and catering to everyone's tastes.
Although the rooms were unfortunately on the ground floor, making them hot from the sun with no way to cool down, they were small but fairly clean and good, although a wee bit tired. The service was excellent, with staff making me the most delicious cheese and onion ever, being very helpful, lovely, efficient, and apologetic when needed. The location, although not ideal for those wanting to be in the city center and under a flight path, had its downsides, particularly for lone female guests. The dining experience was hot, plentiful, with a fantastic selection, but not ideal for nachos lovers. In Aberdeen, not Kenya.
The hotel had its highs and lows. On one hand, the food was exceptional, the staff were wonderfully welcoming and friendly, creating a fantastic atmosphere with great entertainment. On the other hand, the rooms were subpar, with poor heating, tired furnishings, and some maintenance issues in the bathroom.
